Winter Wonderland

Another look from this weekend’s winter wonderland :) Pulled out some classic favourites like these Hunter boots, stripe turtleneck and hooded coat for some fun in the snow. Although I must say, packing for warmer temperatures this week has definitely got me happy to be escaping the cold ;) More on that later!

A super easy look that I pulled together on the weekend. I actually snagged this blouse as an easy cover up for our beach vaca but loved it even more paired with a neutral jacket and white jeans. I still have a hard time busting out white jeans in the middle of winter but slowly but surely, I’ll get there ;)

Two major snowfalls and a dip in temps and it definitely feels like winter around here. I see no issues going with cropped jeans in weather 0 degrees and above but when the weather constantly seems to be -5 and lower, it’s officially boot season. 
These black over the knee boots are a fun addition to my wardrobe. I’ll be honest, I always struggle with OTK boots for my height (5’4). I feel like they just go a tad too high on my thigh and almost miss the ‘look’ that they’re supposed to evoke. This pair from Vince Camuto has a great chunky heel, suede fabric and captures that perfect OTK look without looking goofy.

With consistent sub-zero temperatures in the forecast, keeping cozy but chic gets harder and harder as the days pass. Layering button up shirts under cozy sweaters is crucial (perhaps even adding a thin cami under for an extra layer of warmth) to surviving the cold. Nothing gets me like a pair of embellished floral pants. I love that this specific pair is a darker print that pairs well with the season’s favs: blush and grey tones. I played up the blues in this particular outfit with these satin-toned pumps and wool coat (a fav of mine from 2015).

Parajumpers Parka

Ask any Canadian girl about the art of winter layering and they’ll probably tell you it starts with their winter jacket. Despite asking ourselves ‘Why do we live here’ year after year, we put ourselves through the torture of another insane winter that requires layering from head to toe. Thankfully in recent years, outerwear companies have been making it easier to make a statement in a coat that not only keeps you warm but also brings a unique utilitarian vibe to one’s #OOTD.

Designed in honour of extreme rescue missions often called, “Parajumpers” the brand is designed by Italian founder, Massimo Rossetti. The utilitarian design can be found in items such as the hooks or parachute clips on the coat – hopefully something I’ll never have to use on the streets of Toronto ;) 
While I don’t foresee any rescue missions in the near future, I can appreciate the design of the Parajumpers coat. The down-filled coat is extreme warm for those frigid days and features a removable hood. I also appreciate the side vents for a more comfortable take on the jacket and can exude a more casual vibe depending on the look you’re going for.
