Sephora VIB Sale: What I bought!

New season, new weather, new makeup routine. We all know the drill by now and that Sephora hosts one of their infamous sales in November for both VIB and Rouge members. So many of you let me know you’re a VIB member so I wanted to share what items I scored as new finds and old favourites during the sale the past few weeks.
Skin Regimen
Sunday Riley Autocorrect Cream: I’ve been using this eye cream for under a week so it’s hard to chat to the outcomes it’s delivered on however, I did find the product soothing in the eye area and I feel like I noticed some slight depuffing after my flight to and from Texas.
RMS Beauty Oil: Normally a skeptic of beauty oils, I’ve been using this 2-3 times a week for the past month and have fallen in love. I love using it after a small microneedling session and always find my skin feels refreshed and smooth the next morning.
Summer Friday’s Overtime Mask: I purchased the Jet Lag Mask after all the hype and reviews. I have to admit, I struggle with the product. I don’t find it makes a huge impact on restoring my skin and using it as a base for makeup has left my skin oily. The Overtime Mask however was won me over. A little goes a long way and the clarifying mask really works to bring your skin back to life. I’ve also found it works great at assisting in clearing hormonal acne.
SKYN ICELAND Eye Gels: I’ve tried a few brands in this space and nothing really lives up to the hype or the reviews. I wouldn’t call this product a miracle worker but if it was a late night or a long flight, I do find this can assist in an overall scheme to bring puffy eyes and dark circles back to life.
Mount Lai Rose Quartz Roller: I’ve loved using this product to apply the RMS beauty oil mentioned above.
Beauty Favourites
Better than Sex Mascara: If you’ve been following me for sometime, you know I have always attributed what lift I can get from my lashes to this product. Still a fav! But I did snag this item from IT cosmetics to see how I like it.
Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Concealer: I like to think of myself as the concealer guru (I’ve likely tried them all), and this one is a new favourite hands down. The product applies quite easily and generously and doesn’t crease into fine lines throughout the day.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation: Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s worth every penny. A little goes a long way and this product blends like no other and looks great on its own or with other products.
Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer: I only started using a Primer in the last year and this item alone has made the world of a difference. My skin is getting drier the older I get and between this product and facial cream, I can restore balance to my skin before applying foundation.
Smashbox Eye Palette: Petal Metal is my go-to shade in these palettes and I’ve almost used up 3 of the shades in 2 months alone. The pigment is great and this goes on super easy!
Stila Eyeliner: Another long time product I’ve been using. Applies super easy, I love that I can achieve a dramatic or easy cat-eye with this product too.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick: A few swipes of this with BB cream or the foundation mentioned above is a quick and easy way to add some colour and dimension to my face.
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer: This product can be quite overwhelming if you use too much but a light swipe on the cheek bones can give you a nice glow now that summer tans are beginning to fade.
Beauty Blender in Natural: I broke up with my foundation brush earlier this year in favour of the Beauty Blender and haven’t looked back since!
BITE Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Souffle: The perfect pink-ish nude and the creamy base makes this product last for days (ok, more like hours) on end.
Hair & Such
Dry Bar Texas Tease Brush: I might have to break up with my hair stylist over this brush. I’ve loved a good bump for years but achieving it seemed almost impossible until now. This brush makes teasing a pinch and a little goes a long way.
OUAI Voluminizing Hair Spray: I picked this up in Austin when I realized I left my favourite product at home. I love that the product doesn’t make my hair feel stringy or sticky when I apply and it does seem to hold quite well. I just wouldn’t rely on the promise of extra volume – it hasn’t seemed to do the trick for me.
ghd 2″ Straightening Iron: Mid-week visits to the gym means less time curling my hair and I’m back to straightening it again for an easy look. This straightener captures more hair faster with the 2″ plates and I like that the heat is controlled to protect my ends from getting fried.

Sephora Beauty Insider Sale

I have been snatching up old favs and new to me brands with the Sephora sale this past week and I feel like I can’t quit the habit. If you follow me on Instagram stories, I did a makeup tutorial last Saturday (saved to my beauty highlights) featuring most of these items. I included my go-to favourites this time around but there are some new items above that I’ve recently learned to love.
The RMS Beauty Oil is not only natural but has been perfect for my skin as the weather begins to transition. A longtime fan of Laura Mercier, the setting powder in Glow is a game changer. I’m all for perfecting the 5 minute morning routine and if I can skip the highlighter step with this all in one product, then count me in! The Drybar paddle brush is another new purchase but I adore it for combing out fussy tangles after the shower – my hair is the worst for this!
I’ve also included my all-time favourites like the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation or the Better Than Sex Mascara – these are my ride or die products. Don’t forget you have till the 3rd of September to score up to 20% your favourite brands.

Sephora VIB Sale: My Favs!

It’s that time of the year again: the Sephora VIB Sale. I know I rarely touch on beauty on the blog but I wanted to share some of my favourites that I’ll be restocking upon and new favourites I can’t wait to try like the Kevin Aucoin brand. With 20% off the entire store, it’s not only time to stock up on your favourites but also a chance to try those beauty products you’ve had your eye on for some time now. Don’t forget to use code 20FORVIB to take advantage of the deal.
Kevin Aucoin Concealer: I haven’t tried this brand but have heard amazing things about the line so I’m going to give the concealer a shot!
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: I’ve tried the entire line of primers from Smashbox but this tinted option adds the perfect glow for winter months.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation: The holy grail of foundations in my opinion. It’s a tad on the pricey side but the finish its long-lasting ability make it a spend worth justifying in my opinion.
Urban Decay Naked Palette (2): This is my ride or die when it comes to eye-shadows. From a natural look for the office to a smokey eye for date night – this span of shades always has me covered.
Stila Liquid Liner: If you haven’t used this liquid liner yet, you’re definitely missing out. Always a fan of the black hue, I recently switched to brown to make my green eyes pop.
Urban Decay Lash Primer: My lashes can always use some umph and this product helps lengthen and seperate while also acting as a great base for my mascara.
Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara: I think I’ve tried EVERY SINGLE item on the market and for those stubborn, light coloured lashes – this is the product you need. I’m on my 5th bottle now and there’s no turning back for me.
Marc Jacobs Highlighter: I love mixing this product in with my foundation on cold, winter days where my glow is ahem lacking but also a dab around the eyes can help for the perfect highlighting touch.
Make Up Forever Setting Spray: My sister got me hooked on setting spray in the past year and this option feels light-weight but also locks in my look from day to night.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick (Mini): The perfect travel companion, I also love how you can almost achieve a bronzed look in one swipe or a more rosy-tint in another.

Amika Touchable Hairspray: While Oribe is definitely my go-to to help set my look, I will spray strands with this Amika hairspray on days 2/3 to achieve a more natural wave but keep the curl in place.

Amika Switch Kit: One of the most popular questions I get is how I achieve my girls and this is my go-to curling wand. I’ve tried the larger and smaller extensions but the 1.25″ barrel is perfect!
Living Proof Dry Shampoo: Paraben free, easily worked with a comb or hair dryer and smells great: need I say more?
Sephora Travel Brush: I have of these brushes in rotation amongst my bags and I HATE that they haven’t made this into a full size brush. It works great to achieve natural waves, eases frizz and smooths out hair. I love it!
Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt: My go-to scent for the fall/winter season.

Smashbox Always On Lipstick: I never, ever have lip liner on me so a quick and easy to apply lip gloss is usually my go-to for office days or meetings and I love that I don’t have to worry whether this is going to end up on my teeth since it dries in a flash! Babe Alert is my favourite shade.

Beauty Talk: My Skincare Routine

Flowers by Bloom Scout
I never thought I’d be the person to admit this but having to admit to brands and any survey that I’m now in the 30-34-age bracket, has really been throwing me for a loop. Thirty always seemed SO far away to me but having lived it for 6 months now, I’m finally coming to terms with it.
Another fact of life that comes hand in hand with turning 30? My lackadaisical skincare regime was not going to cut it for another decade. Sure, I had known this for a while now but really getting my routine down pat and knowing what does and doesn’t work for my sin has been crucial. Some background: I give myself no more than 5 minutes to spend on skin care a day AND it has to travel easily for me to keep up with it.
This is my go-to list of products for an ideal morning before work or before bed. Sure, I’m the first to admit it doesn’t necessarily look like this everyday but I’ll get to which product I’m willing to sacrifice on for time. Thankfully, all of my go-to skincare favs are available from Sephora and I’m so pumped to give you a sneak peek at my personal picks.
I’ve tried a ton of masks and always get the ‘so-what’ feeling after I’ve waited out the prescribed time to see the full effects. I actually find some even tend to dry my skin out (I’m combination skin for those asking).
This Fresh Rose Face Mask is the mask I will go out of my way to replenish. Sure, it smells great but it also works to hydrate and tone your skin. I’m all for multi-purposeful products. I’ll throw this on for a few minutes while putting on my PJ’s and get ready for bed. Then you rinse off and pat dry.

Next on my list is the Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer. I’ve always loved the Clinique brand. They’re a safe bet and my go-to if my skin has been acting out of sorts from changes in weather. The texture of this cream is different than most but I do find it lasts all day and is a great under makeup. Following my moisturizer, I’m relentless when it comes to eye cream. The Philosophy Take A Deep Breath Eye Cream is amazing. A little goes a long way with this stuff and the cooling sensation is perfect after a post-girls-night-out with rose kind morning ;)

The next two products I’ll switch out depending on the season. In cooler months, I’ll use this Marc Jacobs Primer to set my makeup. The coconut scent is my fav and it aborbs super quick for us gals who are always short on time! As we ease into spring and my skin has more hydration, I’ll opt to skip the primer and will use the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. The scent is insane and it’s the perfect spray of moisture to set your face before – or after – your makeup.

While this is my current lineup of favourites, I’d love to hear if there’s other products you’re currently loving. Leave a comment below and let me know what other skincare products you’re loving from Sephora!
