Buy More, Save More Event

Whether it’s a regular week at work (for my fellow Canadians) or a relaxing day at home for the holidays, I’m certain everyone is committing time to scrolling their email inboxes and Instagram feeds for the best Black Friday deals this week. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog post rounding up a series of sales from my favourite stores but the Buy More, Save More sale at Shopbop always gets my attention.
Totally aware that there is plenty of shopping ahead, I wanted to offer a cost conscious roundup of my favourite finds from the retailer – all under $200. From these leopard print boots to faux-fur coat, there are so many goodies worth a gander.

Shopbop Sale: Finds Under $200

I don’t know about you but summer felt like it flew by. So much so that I haven’t really started scratching the surface on a fall wish list or what trends I’m looking to incorporate into my personal style. Only in the past week or so have I begun making wish lists of items I’m looking to add to my collection. Shopbop is hosting their annual Stock Up Sale and by using code, STOCKUP19, you can score 20% off your purchase under $500 and 25% off when you spend $500 and higher.
A reoccurring theme I’m drawn to? Faux-fur lined boots. After the last winter we had, it’s time to get serious about winter layering and these are just the ones I need. With a 25 minute walk from the train station to my office, appropriate layering is on the agenda.
You probably won’t be shocked to hear more leopard print is another fan favourite around here. This belted blazer immediately caught my eye and I loved the detail on the belt. And speaking of cozy layers, I’m all for balloon sleeve details this season.

Ok ok, we’re going to talk about something quite scary today: fall season. I know, not something you want to hear or think about in the thick of summer! Let’s be honest though, you can’t deny the feeling of snagging a great pair of ankle boots, moto jacket or emerald hued dress and thinking of how this entire outfit will come together with a cool morning, warm coffee in your hand and the leaves changing around you.
Yes, my coping mechanism to deal with impending fall and winter season is to day dream about the clothes to go with it. Thankfully, the one-of-a-kind Nordstrom Anniversary Sale makes these dreams a reality by allowing you to snag the upcoming trends for next season at a fraction of the price. While the sale has been live for about a week or so, it’s the perfect time to browse again or take an initial look as sold out items often come back in stock in-store and online. If you want to shop the sale early next year, sign up for a Nordstrom credit card and get exclusive perks like Early Access and more. And sign up for the Nordy Club to enjoy perks like curb side pickup and to earn reward points.

This green floral print dress immediately caught my eye when I saw it in store. I’m not normally one to turn to emerald green for a colour palette, but the pink and white accents had me thinking that weaving in my pastel accessories would be a cinch. The balloon sleeves and pockets were also a major win. Speaking of pastel accessories, I always love using the sale to snag items from designer favourites like Tory Burch, Ted Baker and Kate Spade. This pink bow clutch was too cute to pass up and it came with a perfect crossbody chain for a more casual vibe. I paired it with these neutral block heels and a classic pair of sunglasses
This is just one look I was able to snag from the sale but with cozy sweaters, plaid jackets, chic loafers and beauty finds galore like this Diptqye set or Oribe duo, it’s definitely an add to cart kind of month. Head to your local Nordstrom store to shop the sale now through August 4th. Prices go back up on August 5th.

The One that Didn’t Get Away

Dress: Gal Meets Glam {also here and here} | Sunglasses: Le Specs
Handbag: c/o Poppy & Peonies {Loving this} | Cuff: c/o Julie Vos
Shoes: Soludos | Earrings: Baublebar
It’s FINALLY spring season in Toronto and I couldn’t be happier. After seeing bursts of pink and white on everyone else’s feed, we couldn’t help but wonder when it would be our turn. And just in time for spring, Nordstrom is having their Half Yearly Sale. Normally, I browse through the sale without finding much for me but when I spotted this dress, I had to pounce. I’ve loved the Gal Meets Glam collection and literally have to refrain from spending a ridiculous amount of money on every launch. After opting for this style instead (see it styled here), it was awesome to find this style seriously marked down.

Sharing some of my other favourite finds below from the sale:

Memorial Day Sales

Wising all my friends south of the border an awesome long weekend and a thank you for all of the amazing sales we’re benefitting from north of the border. I’ve had a hard time trying to keep to a budget with sales happening at Serena & Lily, Shopbop, J. Crew and Sam Edelman. On my checklist? Flowy summer dresses, fun slides and a beach set for days spent at the beach!

Shopbop Sale: All under $200

The final countdown is on to Black Friday but in the stretch before we all hit Add to Cart in a mad panic, Shopbop decided to pull out a surprise sale this week. With discounts ranging from 15 to 25% off, it’s the perfect time to stock up on closet staples like Sam Edelman loafers, old favourites like Karen Walker sunglasses or designer finds like Stuart Weitzman boots.
In today’s roundup, I shared fun finds I loved and all at the price tag of $200 and under. From outerwear to accessories and cute booties, there’s an array of items that will get you through the next season in style.
!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

Sephora VIB Sale: What I bought!

New season, new weather, new makeup routine. We all know the drill by now and that Sephora hosts one of their infamous sales in November for both VIB and Rouge members. So many of you let me know you’re a VIB member so I wanted to share what items I scored as new finds and old favourites during the sale the past few weeks.
Skin Regimen
Sunday Riley Autocorrect Cream: I’ve been using this eye cream for under a week so it’s hard to chat to the outcomes it’s delivered on however, I did find the product soothing in the eye area and I feel like I noticed some slight depuffing after my flight to and from Texas.
RMS Beauty Oil: Normally a skeptic of beauty oils, I’ve been using this 2-3 times a week for the past month and have fallen in love. I love using it after a small microneedling session and always find my skin feels refreshed and smooth the next morning.
Summer Friday’s Overtime Mask: I purchased the Jet Lag Mask after all the hype and reviews. I have to admit, I struggle with the product. I don’t find it makes a huge impact on restoring my skin and using it as a base for makeup has left my skin oily. The Overtime Mask however was won me over. A little goes a long way and the clarifying mask really works to bring your skin back to life. I’ve also found it works great at assisting in clearing hormonal acne.
SKYN ICELAND Eye Gels: I’ve tried a few brands in this space and nothing really lives up to the hype or the reviews. I wouldn’t call this product a miracle worker but if it was a late night or a long flight, I do find this can assist in an overall scheme to bring puffy eyes and dark circles back to life.
Mount Lai Rose Quartz Roller: I’ve loved using this product to apply the RMS beauty oil mentioned above.
Beauty Favourites
Better than Sex Mascara: If you’ve been following me for sometime, you know I have always attributed what lift I can get from my lashes to this product. Still a fav! But I did snag this item from IT cosmetics to see how I like it.
Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Concealer: I like to think of myself as the concealer guru (I’ve likely tried them all), and this one is a new favourite hands down. The product applies quite easily and generously and doesn’t crease into fine lines throughout the day.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation: Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s worth every penny. A little goes a long way and this product blends like no other and looks great on its own or with other products.
Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer: I only started using a Primer in the last year and this item alone has made the world of a difference. My skin is getting drier the older I get and between this product and facial cream, I can restore balance to my skin before applying foundation.
Smashbox Eye Palette: Petal Metal is my go-to shade in these palettes and I’ve almost used up 3 of the shades in 2 months alone. The pigment is great and this goes on super easy!
Stila Eyeliner: Another long time product I’ve been using. Applies super easy, I love that I can achieve a dramatic or easy cat-eye with this product too.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick: A few swipes of this with BB cream or the foundation mentioned above is a quick and easy way to add some colour and dimension to my face.
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer: This product can be quite overwhelming if you use too much but a light swipe on the cheek bones can give you a nice glow now that summer tans are beginning to fade.
Beauty Blender in Natural: I broke up with my foundation brush earlier this year in favour of the Beauty Blender and haven’t looked back since!
BITE Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Souffle: The perfect pink-ish nude and the creamy base makes this product last for days (ok, more like hours) on end.
Hair & Such
Dry Bar Texas Tease Brush: I might have to break up with my hair stylist over this brush. I’ve loved a good bump for years but achieving it seemed almost impossible until now. This brush makes teasing a pinch and a little goes a long way.
OUAI Voluminizing Hair Spray: I picked this up in Austin when I realized I left my favourite product at home. I love that the product doesn’t make my hair feel stringy or sticky when I apply and it does seem to hold quite well. I just wouldn’t rely on the promise of extra volume – it hasn’t seemed to do the trick for me.
ghd 2″ Straightening Iron: Mid-week visits to the gym means less time curling my hair and I’m back to straightening it again for an easy look. This straightener captures more hair faster with the 2″ plates and I like that the heat is controlled to protect my ends from getting fried.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

Shopbop Sale Picks!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: the Shopbop Stock Up Event. Any order under $500 qualifies for a 20% discount and orders over $500 can obtain a 25% discount. I often use this sale to stock up trends I’m loving for fall (like this sweater coat or this printed dress) and stock up on my go-to classics like Quay Sunglasses or these Sam Edelman leopard loafers
!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Under $100 Finds!

Last week, I had the chance to share some of my first finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access preview. Now that the sale has been opened to the public, more sizes, different offerings and more have hit the website. I thought for today’s curated list, I’d pick my favourite finds – all under $100. From shoes to beauty finds and designer picks, I was pleasantly surprised at all the finds.
Truth be told, I haven’t quite carved out my ‘look’ for the fall season so for now I’m going off instinct and investing in great basics like this red belted skirt (love the idea of this paired with leopard pumps and a white blouse) or a classic trench coat. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post where I share and style what I got from my local Nordstrom and how I re-worked my items into 2 looks!
Here’s a recap of my top picks below:
Cole Haan Flats: A brand I normally skip over, but a girlfriend raved about her Cole Haan flats recently and I must admit, I snagged these leopard print flats during the sale and the padding on the sole is actually life changing.
NARS Lip Set: I received these lip glosses in bold colours earlier in the year (think bright reds and pinks). The color stayed and the product was so amazing I invested in some nude-pink shades and still love using them!
Diptyque Set: As much as I love these for myself, I also love buying these sets and breaking them up into smaller gifts for girlfriends or even hostess gifts when we visit friends’ house for supper.
Tory Burch Zip Wallet: A long time fan of the ‘Mom’ wallet, I recently changed over to a smaller zip coin holder and I haven’t bothered to switch back. Thanks to the micro bag trend, I’ve become quite the minimalist when it comes to daily necessities and I’m loving it!
Nike Trainers: Ok I’m not going to kid myself here, these are definitely for fashion purposes and not for hitting the gym, but it’s a step in the right direction …. right?!?!

!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p, cb; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; cb = new Date().getTime().toString(); p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js?cb=1532484820419?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);
