Playing up a more casual vibe in this oversized coat today. I was soooo bummed to find it out sold out after I got it so I had to link to similar items but I know, I know – they definitely aren’t the same. Aaaannnndd is anyone else dying over the spring collection from Zara? It’s embarrassing how many items I’ve added to my spring wish list from that store alone. I bought these shoes last month and have been waiting to finally wear them!

Keeping today’s post short and sweet! This weekend was nuts preparing for the week ahead and our upcoming vacation (WOO HOO!). Here’s a look I wore to work the other week. Can you tell the cold, depressing weather is starting to take a toll on my outfits? Sigh. With so much of the industry nodding to minimalism, I’ve definitely taken cues in the way I’ve been dressing and and accessorizing this year. Swapping embellished necklaces for dainty pendants and chunky rings for dainty gold jewels was uneasy at first but now seems to come as second nature. Don’t get me wrong – I still love an rhinestone bib – but come 4pm at the office when your neck feels like it’s being weighed down … may have you rethinking these styles.

That’s why I’ve become obsessed with Three Sweet Beads as of late. This curated collection of bracelets, earrings, rings and necklaces is the perfect touch of dainty and girly. I sported the X Ring and Olivia Ring on Instagram earlier this week and got so many comments and emails from readers asking about these two styles. Don’t you love finding items you thought you’d lost? I was going through boxes in the basement and found this in one labelled, ‘Office’ from our move in April. I did a happy dance and then proceeded to check the pockets for loonies or twoonies :) No dice but I was definitely happy to find this hidden gem once again!

I had to say yes to this vest. I went on a mad hunt for this number in Toronto only to find every.single.store (and online) had sold out. I had almost lost hope until I had to fly out to Vancouver for work back in October and was floored when I walked into Zara and found an entire rack full of these. I couldn’t help but gush to the cashier on how excited I was. Needless to say, I’m sure she thought I was a bit of a kook but let me know they hadn’t been selling well at all. Isn’t it funny how style can drastically change from one city to the next? This time it definitely worked in my favour!

And the Polar Vortex of 2014/2015 has officially kicked off! Yes, those would be flurries flying around in today’s blog photo pics and as darling as they may look, don’t be fooled. Our wardrobes have shifted overnight from pumps to boots and light layers to thick coats. One piece I find myself wearing more is this Danier Leather Alice Lamb Pencil Skirt. Granted, it’s now accompanied with tights and I’ve been pairing it with layered blouses as shown above or even cable-knit pullovers for the office. On weekends, consider pairing with a tee and long cardigan with sneakers or flats. With amazing leather pieces at reasonable prices, Danier Leather is one of my favourite home-grown labels.


On another note, what do you guys think of my new sunglasses? Living in the suburbs, stores are often limited to what styles they carry  and ordering a pair in to just to try on can take f-o-r-e-v-e-r! So after seeing this pair on ladies I love like Devon, Blair or Hallie, I decided to pull the trigger and hope for the best. Shopping for sunglasses is so daunting sometimes! Do like to just buy pairs online or do you try them on first?
