Ok ok, we’re going to talk about something quite scary today: fall season. I know, not something you want to hear or think about in the thick of summer! Let’s be honest though, you can’t deny the feeling of snagging a great pair of ankle boots, moto jacket or emerald hued dress and thinking of how this entire outfit will come together with a cool morning, warm coffee in your hand and the leaves changing around you.
Yes, my coping mechanism to deal with impending fall and winter season is to day dream about the clothes to go with it. Thankfully, the one-of-a-kind Nordstrom Anniversary Sale makes these dreams a reality by allowing you to snag the upcoming trends for next season at a fraction of the price. While the sale has been live for about a week or so, it’s the perfect time to browse again or take an initial look as sold out items often come back in stock in-store and online. This green floral print dress immediately caught my eye when I saw it in store. I’m not normally one to turn to emerald green for a colour palette, but the pink and white accents had me thinking that weaving in my pastel accessories would be a cinch. The balloon sleeves and pockets were also a major win. Speaking of pastel accessories, I always love using the sale to snag items from designer favourites like Tory Burch, Ted Baker and Kate Spade. This pink bow clutch was too cute to pass up and it came with a perfect crossbody chain for a more casual vibe. I paired it with these neutral block heels and a classic pair of sunglasses. 
This is just one look I was able to snag from the sale but with cozy sweaters, plaid jackets, chic loafers and beauty finds galore like this Diptqye set or Oribe duo, it’s definitely an add to cart kind of month. Yes, the temperatures were in the high 30s this weekend. Yes, it was extremely hot sporting this dress in the blistering heat. Yes, it was necessary because of how adorable this dress is! Part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, this was one of those must-have items. I’ll be honest, the sleeve detailing feels quite ‘trendy’ in my opinion and shorten the shelf life of this dress but given the deal I got on it, I’m happy with the price I paid. It feels a little ambitious for this season, but come fall/winter, I can see this easily becoming a weekly staple.

A few days late with this post, but I was finally able to pull together some of my favourite finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and they’re all under $100. The promotion officially launches in Canada today – yay! – so snagging these items north and south of the border is finally an option. I pulled together a mix of favourites like this leopard midi skirt (great with a leather jacket and tee) or this pink utility jacket (belted over a midi dress). And while I’m not ready for the cool weather to roll in, this pyjama set is asking for a cozy morning on the couch with a blanket.

With only a few days left to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I wanted to share some last minute finds for the home front. I feel like I’ve been cheating on fashion with furniture since we moved into our place and I’m trying to create a coastal-feel with lots of linens, whites, neutral colours and pops of blue. 
I actually have one of these Regina Andrew Jack’s and love that it always finds a new home in our home from bookcases to kitchen counters to books on our coffee table. This cozy blanket is giving me all the fall feels and I can’t help but think of being curled up with it on the couch. Since storage is limited in our house, I’m all about storage baskets lately. From magazines to blankets or even shoes by the front door, I’m crushing on this Pom Pom Set for our place. Last but not least, catch all trays are a must have in our house. This monogram option is not only chic but would work great on a bedside table, on a console table for keys or even in the bathroom for holding dainty jewelry.

What I bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

FINALLY! As of July 20th, all the waiting, wishlisting and wanting could finally come to an end and the general public got access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I still get some questions from readers about the sale and what it’s all about so let me break it down for you gals:

Where: The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is available in both American and Canadian Nordstrom stores. I personally shopped my go-to location at CF Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke but I love getting to the Eaton Centre location when I can. Other locations featuring merchandise from the sale include stories in Calgary, Ottawy and Vancouver. Despite the online collection offering a wide variety, I love getting to see the items in person, try them on for myself and I can get my Anniversary goodies altered on site – score!

When: Nordstrom Cardholders have early access to the sale but as of July 20th, the sale opened up the general public and no card is required. The sale can be accessed online and in store. The sale will extend till August 5th but prices on all merchandise will go up on August 6th.

What: While most sales tend to be mark downs on merchandise that has sat on shelves for weeks or months on end, this sale gives you the opportunity to preshop the latest fashion from designers like[RC1] Kate Spade, Ted Baker, 1901 and more – before the season even arrives! I love getting a sneak peek at what’s coming down the pipe for fall/winter and getting it on sale before I even have to dress for the season. We all know those chilly fall mornings are just around the corner!

What I bought: 

BP. Colourblocked Sweater: In a true, buy now, wear later style post, I wanted to show you guys how I drew inspiration from this colour-blocked sweater. I love the idea of wearing it now draped over this Eliza J dress but also worn casually with jeans for a more simplistic fall look come September.

Sleeveless Dress: I love how this Eliza J Dress is one of those throw-on-and-go styles you don’t even have to think about before work in the morning for summer. Come fall, I love it styled with a button up blouse under and some fun earrings and by winter, I might add a blazer and tights but a sheath shape like this can be reworked so many ways!

Raw Hem Skinny Jeans: Despite having a penchant for dresses, skirts and all things feminine, this girl can’t resist a good pair of jeans. These Blank NYC raw hem jeans look great in summer/fall with open toed shoes or ballet flats. Come winter, they’ll tuck in perfectly to knee-high boots or even ankle booties with nylon sucks under.

Kate Spade Crossbody: I love the neutral tone of this Kate Spade Crossbody bag. Whether you style it with the elongated chain or even tucked under your arm as a cute clutch, this bag is definitely down for double duty. I also love how easy it will pack for weekend getaways!

Cole Haan Leopard Print Flats: You can count on me buying at least one pair of leopard print flats every season and these shoes are no exception. From the bow detail to the padded insert, these shoes are a true winner from summer to next spring!

White Cotton Blouse: A go-to for work wear wardrobe, I buy a crisp white shirt every season. I love that this particular style has stretch in it and curves to my shape making it tuck into pants and skirts without excess material.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Early Access

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve likely heard, read or seen that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is upon us. With Early Access available now, I love using this opportunity to snatch my pre-fall wardrobe items that I know will carry me through till Spring 2019. Happy Friday Gals! Rounding up some of my personal favourite beauty brands and products found in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale on the blog today. With only a week left, be sure to top up on all your beauty must-haves while the sale still lasts! 
OUAI Wave Spray: I recently bought the Rose Body Oil rom this brand and obsessed is an understatement. I recently tried the Wave Spray on my beach waves and loved the scent but the way it texturized my hair!

Diptyque Candle Set: As if this brand needs an introduction! I do love saving my jars for fun odds and ends like matchsticks, Q-tips or a catch-all on a bedside table. 
Tory Burch Perfume: This light and airy perfume is a great scent to wrap up the rest of summer! 

Beachwaver Curling Iron: While I haven’t used this specific product myself, I am a huge fan of a good beach wave and this will do the trick. Not to mention – it does all the hard work for you! 
Mario Badusco Icons Set: Give me anything with Rosewater and I’m a happy girl! The Facial Spray in this set is a game changer and the travel size is perfect for you gals on the go! 
Sugar Lips Lip Balm: I’ve been carrying this balm for years and still consider it one of my favs to this day. You’re likely to find one in every bag I own. The rose scent (noticing a theme here!?!) and tinted colour make it a perfect companion for a quick touch up. 
Charlotte Tillbury Bronze and Blush Glow Set: I mean, can the woman do any wrong? I’ve yet to met a Charlotte Tillbury product I haven’t loved and this set is no exception. I love that both products are buildable and work great on more fair skin tones or at your darkest in summer. 
Charlotte Tillbury Hot Lips Set: The kind of lipstick set you’ll find in my work tote: nudish-pink for the day and a brighter pop of colour for night. I love love love CT’s lipstick collection and this new line is just amazing (try Electric Poppy!) 
Round Sense Mirror: These mirrors are definitely a love/hate product in the bathroom but they’re a girl’s BFF when it comes to liquid liner application! 

Bobbi Brown Lip Set: Sure the colour of this set is amazing but if you haven’t tried the Art Stick by Bobbi Brown, you’re missing out. Goes on like lip gloss, dries like a matte lipstick – it’s a game changer when it comes to lip colour! 
Voluspa Candles: I love scooping up these candle sets and saving them as hostess gift ideas. They’re also fun additions to powder rooms when you throw dinner parties!
