With the heat wave easing up in the next week or so, I can finally say I’m ready for the cooler temperatures. Something feels wrong being in a tank and shorts while watching leaves fall on the ground and sipping Starbucks out of fall-themed cups. If you’re like, I always like to wait until after NYFW and the September fashion magazines have hit to formally decide what is on my Must-Have list for the fall season. 
Here’s what I’m looking to invest in this season: A chunky pair of leopard booties, an oversized sweater with feminine details, ANYTHING with a bow, a structured blazer in a new colour and polished sneakers. Despite being mainly beach towns, I felt so inspired by the women from the French Riviera with their ease of style.

Polished Boho

I think this is going to be my summer uniform for 2017. I’m loving the boho details for summer and with fun embroidery tops galore this season – it’s easy to channel the style all your own. Since my personal style is more polished, I’ll offset a voluminous shirt like this with skinny jeans or shorts for warmer temps. A simple pump keeps the look polished but fun :)

It’s funny… I wore this dress last weekend and a friend told me they can’t remember the last time I wore something so colourful. Always thinking I err on the colourful side of my Toronto friends (grey is the city’s favourite colour lol), I was somewhat shocked. Needless to say, I’ve been making an effort to introduce more colour to the wardrobe as of late ;)

Yes, those are tights you see on my legs. We shot this look in -15 and going bare legged was just not an option on a day like this! Looking chic but keeping warm is just one of those struggles in the winters months that I often have a hard time with. When you’re forced to wear multiple layers, warm boots and thick coats – you feel like showcasing your style can easily be lost. I like to opt for turtlenecks that contrast with my winter jacket and some serious neck bling. Bold sunnies can also help to add some punch to your #ootd!

Sharing this look that I wore to the J. Crew S/S17 show this past week in New York. I loved that the brand used real people (yes, with real varying ages too!) as models – it made the collection really come to life. And seeing a model smile was just completely refreshing lol ;) This skirt really, truly is a must-have item. I did have to size up as there’s no give in the fabric but I LOVE it paired with a simple white tank, button up blouse or even a black and white contrast bow blouse for fall.
