Purple Rain

Sharing my third and final look from NYFW today! This purple jacquard dress was an easy choice since it required minimal accessories and was the perfect nod to fall. The morning we shot this was refreshingly cool compared to the heat wave we’d been having in NYC plus it was the perfect excuse to justify to Adam why I needed the extra suitcase for ‘fall layers’ ;)

NYFW

It feels like a whirlwind but I had the pleasure of attending my first NYFW this past week! I had to be back in the office come Monday morning so my time was definitely cut short but the few shows I saw were amazing. It had been over 3 years since Adam and I had been to NYC and I couldn’t believe how much things had changed! 

I wore this adorable dress to a preview and meetings in the morning and then changed to loafers for an afternoon in the Village. The dress really is one of the most versatile items in my pre-fall wardrobe right now.

Weeping Willow

I always find that wrap dresses are THE most flattering style dress for my shape. Unfortunately, it’s rare I’ll find one in a colour or pattern that I can actually see myself in. This Eliza J polka dot wrap dress was the perfect addition to my summer dress collection :) I also love that the skirt fully wraps around so if a major gust of wind happens to hit you don’t have a Monroe moment heading into the office (please tell me I’m not alone with that experience!).

This dress is so cheery – it instantly put me in a good mood! I paired it with this LOFT jacket before dinner on the weekend for more of an edgier look. This style is sold out but I found a similar style in the Nordstrom Sale that will be perfect for fall! Have you scored anything from the sale yet? Would love to hear any reviews :)

I love how girly and feminine this dress looks and feels and the belt hits at the most perfect part to accentuate your waist. Eliza J is always a winner for me when it comes to maxi’s or fit and flare dresses that work for any event from the office to drinks or as a wedding guest. I’m normally ok to wear shorter heels in these dresses but this one was particularly longer even with wedges! I’m also loving this and this dress from the brand for summer!

It’s almost embarrassing how often I’ve worn this dress around town lately. First to a client meeting, girls night and then a special event, I’m getting great wear out of it. Although we don’t have any in our upcoming schedule, it would also make the perfect wedding-guest dress. Always a fan of Eliza J, this little number definitely didn’t disappoint and I definitely recommend ;)

This was one of my favourite items I wore to dinner last week in Punta Cana. Try not to pay attention to my slicked-back sweaty ‘do. It was over 30 degrees at that point and trying to look glamorous in those kind of temps didn’t come as natural as I’d hoped since we’ve been used to -30 degrees for the past few months.
