I don’t think anything makes me happier than a pink coat – especially for fall. I was always so nervous to purchase anything but black, navy or grey coats for fear that it would be too tough to match or wouldn’t be a practical purchase. I do still believe those options – and camel – are great starting points, there’s something fun about a coat with a pop of colour. Whether it’s pink, red, cobalt blue or even citron yellow – consider something outside the box this season ;)

I can’t think of a better way to welcome fall than with a perfect pearl-adorned tweed dress and matching pink trench :) As if this dress wasn’t cute enough, I added a bow pin for that extra touch. You’ll be seeing a lot more of this brooch in the upcoming weeks – I’m obsessed!!

Pastel Palette

You know the kind of stores that you feel just ‘get you’? You pop in every few weeks to see new collections, search for favourites on sale or even peruse for your significant other? That’s Club Monaco for me. While the overall collection tends to veer on the more modern side, the scalloped hems, purposely places bows and pastel palettes get me every single time. So when the brand asked if I’d be interested in not only previewing their first-ever show at NYFW, but getting to wear items from the new collection, I jumped at the chance. 
A mini farmer’s market set within Grand Central Station, it was the quintessential setting. Amidst models decked out in stunning duds, there was a coffee shop, newspaper stand, florist, preserve shop and more for the taking. Once you got your carb and caffeine fix, perusing the clothing collection was next and did not disappoint. Spotted some faves while perusing the #cmnyfw hashtag? You’re in luck. For a limited time, the Bloor St. location in Toronto (and select NYC stores) will be featuring the Fashion Week Collection until September 16th. You’ll also be able to score this vintage tote bag styled above branded with the CM logo we all know and love!

A more casual look from our stay in California at the Carneros Inn resort. The views from the restaurant’s patio were vineyards to the left and rollin hills to the right. I couldn’t think of a better and more relaxing place to spend a week. I keep asking Adam if we can get two Muskoka chairs of our own with matching blankets for the backyard to ‘almost’ recreate the same feeling ;)

Summer Lovin’

This sweater is the epitome of summer to me. I love, love, love the oversized print and it’s an amazing light-knit sweater that’s perfect for those cooler nights. I’ve paired it with mid-rise jeans above but I’m actually obsessed partnering them with these gingham trousers. Totally recommend this sweater and loving that it’s on major sale right now!

So instead of my intended floral print dresses, cropped jeans and dare I say it – open toed shoes – we spent the past weekend in the city bundled up in layers upon layers of sweaters, fuzzy socks and warm winter coats. Yep, winter definitely isn’t done with Toronto yet :( More to come on our weekend in the city with American Express Canada tomorrow ;)

I picked up this bejeweled blouse a few weeks back and am seriously loving it. I would suggest sizing up – it’s a little snug if you do intend to layer it over button ups, tanks or a turtleneck. I pictured it with Bermuda shorts or even cute midi skirts for when the temps warm up  – isn’t it just darling?
