Hat | Necklace combo | Tee | Jeans | Shoes: Zara, similar | Clutch | Watch | Sunglasses | Bracelet
I feel like today’s look is very minimalist and definitely strays from my usual style. I picked up this tee recently and despite being somewhat stumped on how I’d make it work, thought it would be a great layering item for the months to come. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I do find not all combos tend to work great with this shirt and a slim pair of pants is crucial to avoiding any excess material between your pant waistband and the slits. Just a note – I do find the slits come up a tad higher than most waistbands as well so I tend to wear a black tank under the tee (I’ve got one on in these pics). |

I often receive emails on what I’ll wear to work in the summer for a day at the office or to client meetings. Layering items can be tricky with the heat and then there’s always the fear of revealing too much if you tend to work in a more conservative office scenario. This dress was a recent find that I’ve become oh-so fond of. I tend to find our office a tad cold in the summer with the AC blasting so I opted for longer sleeves, but if you’re looking for something a bit cooler, I’m a fan of this sleeveless version. We shot this look following work, commuting and dinner so there was an awful lot of sitting – hence the wrinkles – but overall, I think it’s a great find for around $100. Even better? I can definitely see myself transitioning this item into fall by pairing it with a long cardigan or black moto jacket. And for the record, the hat was certainly for show ;) Although some days… ok most…I seriously debate opting for hats over styling my hair! |

The day that we shot this look was such a blah day and I feel like it totally shows. I wasn’t feeling great, my allergies were crazy, it had been a busy week at work and as always, the infamous ‘to-do’ list seemed super daunting. So please excuse the lackluster outfit and half smirk in every photo. Thankfully, today is a long weekend in Canada so some much needed R&R, neighbourhood strolls, brunch and coffee dates will turn this frown upside down! |

I have been living in this shirt lately. It’s one of those that colours that you underestimate at first and realize later how much mileage you can get out of it. This outfit was en route to dinner last weekend (minus the hat) and I wore it again Monday morning paired a black jean skirt and scarf for the office. |
