So there’s a new brand in town and I’m kind of in love. Exclusive to the Hudson’s Bay, 424 Fifth is a private label from Lord & Taylor that channels a very minimalist and modern approach to fashion. Think over-sized coats in bright silks, fun graphic sweaters, tweed 2-piece combos and much more. Be sure to keep an eye out on the blog for this brand in March and April as I’ll be showing you my picks from the spring collection.

Bell Shaped

Blazer: Zara {old, similar} | Shirt: J. Crew {old, loving this for spring} | Skirt: c/o Mindy Mae’s Market | Shoes: Joe Fresh {old, similar} | Headband: Forever 21 {similar} | Bag: Chanel {similar} | Ring: Forever 21 {similar} | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: Luxe Craving {similar} | Sunglasses: Celine

I can’t tell you how happy I am to be shedding my thick winter coat! But sometimes I find spring difficult for styling because so many layers are often required to get you from day to night. This adorable skirt from Mindy Mae’s Market had me nervous at first since the bell shape can be tough to hide under long coats or sweaters. But paired with this cropped blazer, I think it really emphasizes its shape and adds such a feminine touch to the outfit. My personal pick was the skirt but I’m also loving these glitter oxfords or these Lulu flats.

Glitzy

Stole: Vintage {similar} | Beaded Mesh Top c/o Ann Taylor | Skirt: c/o Ann Taylor | Bag: Chanel | Watch: Michael Kors | Sunnies: Karen Walker | Pumps: Kate Spade c/o Gilt | Lips: ‘Snob‘ by MAC

I can’t even begin to tell you how I feel about this glitzy outfit. I snatched this beaded mesh shirt from Ann Taylor once I saw it in store and knew it would be the perfect item to combat the winter blues. Can we also chat about this skirt? I love the fit of a pencil skirt but the flare at the bottom on this fit is just the perfect unexpected touch!

If you follow along on Instagram, you probably remember the snap of these Kate Spade beauts about a week ago. Thanks to the Gilt.com team, I was able to score these bad boys from the recent Kate Spade sale. This is one dangerous site let me tell you! With new sales and fresh collections launching daily, there’s always something worth checking back for ;)

As much as I’d like to call myself frugal, there are definitely purchases I make from time to time that are ‘questionable’ in their justification. Despite these minor ‘must have moments’, I am always sure to never lose sight of something my father always instilled in me at a young age: budgeting! I was often reminded, if you don’t have the cash for it, then you shouldn’t be buying it. Thankfully those words still ring loud and clear as an adult but I must admit, it can be difficult at times to walk away from an item which may be ‘out of reach’ at the moment. For times when your inner fashion conscience isn’t doing its duty, there are Paymobile pre-paid Visa cards.

The concept is simple: order a card, personalize it, load it with an amount you’re comfortable spending and once it arrives in the mail: shop away! This card is all about smart spending. So whether you like to abide by seasonal clothing budgets (a habit of mine), are hoping to set boundaries on the upcoming gift giving season or are looking to give a fab gift – it has a plethora of uses. I had the pleasure of using one of the pre-paid cards to knock off some of my essentials for the winter season. My picks? A pink pastel coat for the dreary weather (I blame the Glitter Guide style sessions shoot) and an embellished cardigan.

I’m curious: what do you do to keep your shopping habits in check?
