A Work of Art from Best Buy Canada

s there anything better than putting the finishing touches on a living room? From perfectly folded blankets to staged pillows and the methodical stacking of coffee table books, I love styling a space. One of my biggest pet peeves however, is the large, oversized black box that often invaded our all-white, airy living quarters: the TV set. A battle I lost very early on in our marriage was trying to eliminate the television set from our main floor. I get it – having the TV playing while cooking, or putting on a show with friends is entertaining but it was just such an eyesore in our space. Having cycled through 3 spaces and still struggling with this design feat, I was ready for a change. Enter the Samsung Frame TV from Best Buy Canada.

I have been eyeballing this television for some time now. You could say it was love at first sight – and the perfect compromise for us both – but it had to pass the ultimate test for Adam: the online reviews. Thankfully it passed with flying colours with stellar reviews and in a short period of time, it was perfectly situated in our living room.

One of the most obvious features (and my personal favourite) is the 4K Ultra HD Screen which can share from the brand’s pre-loaded masterpieces or use it as an opportunity to showcase your personal photography or family memories. I currently have this fall theme in rotation but love using images from our recent travels to bring some colour to our white walls.

While the frame of the tv does come standard in a thin, matte frame, consumers have the option to purchase alternative frame colours that best aligns with their personal style. We have the Bezel Light Wood option on our tv set which matches our coastal decor. Another win? The extended cable to the power source for the TV. This meant that hiding the dreaded box was a cinch to keep out of plain sight to maintain our clean aesthetic.

I may not be tech savvy, but I couldn’t help but notice the crystal clear display of my favourite Housewives television shows on the Frame TV. The 4K Ultra HD Screen creates such a realistic portrayal of tv shows, movies, sports and more. Powered by Tizen, the set can easily navigate programs like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube Vimeo and other channels with the switch of a button on the super savvy remote.

I must admit, it’s rare you’ll find me geeking out over a piece of technology but this television set is just the finishing touch we needed for our cozy space. I constantly find myself walking by our living room and just staring at the extra dimension this piece has brought to the space – it really does feel like we’ve secured a high end piece of art that is perfectly customized to our space.

To add this piece to your collection, check out BestBuy.ca or visit their closest store and talk to a blue shirt!

Meet my new BFF

As many of you may know, aside from blogging, I still work full time as a Social Media Strategist within an agency. Managing a career, blog, personal life and making time for a jaunt out of the country here and there can prove to be difficult at times (ok, all the time). Anybody who knows me, knows I rely on my phone and my agenda (always need a plan B!) to keep me organized otherwise, the type A girl in my becomes borderline manic panic.

Not only do I work at an agency supported by a Google platform but most of the behind-the-scenes work of the blog is based on Google software as well. So you can imagine my intrigue with the launch of its new smartphone – Pixel – available at Best Buy Mobile
Maybe one of my intriguing parts about the phone is the Google Assistant feature. Being the kind of gal who makes sticky notes right before bed and leaves them on her laptop, on the door before heading out in the morning or puts a marker on her hand (yes, I’m a child lol), having the ability to tell my phone to remind me to pick up the dry cleaning tomorrow at 8AM is a dream.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of a pin code on a phone – get me before my coffee and I can barely tell you my name let alone another 4 digit code. I love that I can unlock the phone from the back all with the tough of my fingerprint.

But who are we kidding, sure the assistant feature is cool, and the privacy factor is amazing, but a camera really is a make or break deal when it comes to smartphones – no? I’m happy to report that compared side by side with the iPhone 7, I have to admit the quality, clarity and colours were much more crisp and appealing on the Pixel
And tell me you haven’t been on vacation snapping a 1,000+ pictures of palm trees, pink buildings, getting the perfect gelato shot or more and found out you have 0 storage left? (Guilt!). This phone packs a punch with unlimited storage for photos and videos so you no longer have to edit down when you catch sight of your next instagram shot!

Always an iPhone girl, I was nervous if switching from one interface to another would be difficult but I found all my apps and accessing Google Play was a cinch!

And yes for those wondering – the selfie side of the camera on this thing is amazing lol!

Cross checking the reminders I set through the day on my phone with my agenda.

Another great feature? With a charge lasting a full 7 hours, I can head to the office or meet a client downtown for lunch and be rest assured I won’t be searching my bag for that backup charge, cable and – oh you know the drill ;) Overall, I’m definitely impressed with the Google Pixel phone and have begun incorporating it into my day-to-day work routine.
I must admit, the kind folks at my local Best Buy Mobile are the reason I’m so knowledgable on the ins and outs of my phone. I dropped by one evening with a few questions and was personally walked through the highlights of the phone and had all questions specific to my day-to-day needs answered. Whether it’s a gift from me-to-me or for the techie in your life, this girl gives her thumbs up!

Pluggin’ Along with Happy Plugs

Do you ever have one of those days at work (or in life) where you just need a pick-me-up?

I find I always hit that wall around 3pm on a Friday afternoon at work and there are few things that can pull me out of this rut to power through and plug on with the rest of my day. Music is always a sure bet for me and since I work in an office environment, headphones are definitely a must! I was recently asked to try a new pair from the Happy Plugs collection that launched at Best Buy.

I immediately fell in love with the range of patterns, colours and shapes of these headphones (big win!). Another perk was that the headphone cord extends to 1.2 m which is perfect if you simply wanted to listen to music on the go and store your device in a crossbody bag or backpack. The headphones also feature a remote control and built-in-microphone so you can control your music and tend to any calls in the meantime. Another must have for this PR girl!

Beanie: Joe Fresh  {old, similar}| Jacket: 424 Fifth {old, similar} | Shirt: J. Crew | Bag: Gucci {similar} | Jeans: rag & bone | Sneakers: Nike | Aviator Sunglasses: c/o Smart Buy Sunglasses | Ring: c/o Honey Boutique {similar} | Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington | Earplugs: c/o Happy Plugs

And if you are wondering, this is not an outfit I would typically wear to the office ;) Maybe, just maybe, on a Friday but I would likely opt for dark denim instead of distressed jeans. This was a quick errand-running outfit I threw together last weekend before we had company coming over for dinner. I was looking for a chance to sport these these aviators (which I’ve fallen back in love with again thanks to Smart Buy Glasses– sorry for the upcoming overload) and to test the headphones on-the-go instead of at my desk (definitely not photo-worthy). Considering I forgot I even had the headphones on at one point during a conversation, I would say the fit is great the look is certainly stylish. This is a recommend in my books!

Now you can snag a pair of Happy Plugs for yourself! Best Buy Canada was kind enough to offer a $100 gift card to one lucky reader. Contest details are below and contest is open to Canadian residents only.
