You may recall that my last post chatted about putting together the perfect bridal shower for you and your gal pals. With sweet treats, savoury boards, champagne ready to pop and more, it was the perfect way to celebrate the bride-to-be.
This week, I’m tackling the anniversary dinner party. Celebrating a 5-year wedding anniversary party is the perfect way to bring friends and family together in an intimate setting. I loved that Walmart made my shopping for everything from décor and cutlery to groceries and yes even the wine (in select stores) in one easy stop.
Starting with the place settings, these gold plates, cutlery and striped napkins came together perfectly to create an upscale look. I love using charger plates with decorative paper plates on top so when the meal is done, you can toss in a pinch and get back to your guests without a worry. Stemless champagne and wine glasses are a must as well!
And don’t forget a small treat. These Ferrero Rocher 3-packs were the perfect touch to add to each setting to bring the event to life.
To set the mood, I mixed and matched various candle and votive holders to bring my theme to life. I love how a floral as simple as baby’s breath is making a comeback and creates a rustic, but fresh approach to any tablescape.
Appetizer boards were made in a pinch with ready-made antipasto packages from the grocery section. Simply arrange on wooden charger plates for an extra chic addition. I love placing white and red bottles of wine throughout the table and in other conversation areas of the room so guests can pour a glass for themselves. Angel’s Gate is one of our favourite local wineries and to see this brand now available at Walmart was a real treat.
I grabbed one of the ready-made cakes (this one is tiramisu) in the bakery department and by adding fresh flowers to the top, it instantly felt anniversary -ready. Cake decorations can be found in the party supply section and with different variations: sayings, numbers and build your own. I think this makes for such a great photo opp. And one last touch? Sparklers to celebrate the evening of course!
Whether it’s an anniversary party for 50 or an intimate dinner for 6, I loved getting to put my evening plans together with one easy shop at my local Walmart.
