Knit Wit
Ask any Canadian girl what most of her closet consists of and she’ll probably tell you it’s sweaters. Come October, an entire section of my closet is dedicated to sweaters ranging from casual pullovers to cashmere and everything in between. In fact, our entire house gets a face lift when the cool weather rolls in with knitted pillows, blankets and throws decorating every nook and cranny to create that perfect sense of cozy we all crave within the house.
And caring for those stylish knits in your life is just as easy as styling them with Downy Fabric Conditioner. A staple in our house growing up, and a tradition I still continue with, I trust Downy to not only protect my knits but protect them against stretching, fading and fuzzing – the worst!
I often take most knitted wear for granted, so when the team send this kit form top knitwear brand, We Are Knitters, to create my own cardigan I figured it was worth a shot!
With knitting and crochet kits that vary in a range of skill sets – there’s literally a project paired for you. I’ll be honest, taking on a cardigan was probably biting off more than I could chew, but it was certainly fun to try for an afternoon.
Knowing that a brand like this – which takes their fabric very seriously – trusts their wool in the hands of a brand like Downy, is comforting. I trust that my investments (especially those cashmere items!) will maintain their look not only this season but for years to come.
With such busy lives, I know I’m guilty of trying to speed through laundry loads as fast possible. But if you think about it, you wouldn’t just shampoo your hair and not condition – the thought of those tangles just made me shutter – so why skip out on conditioning your fabric? Just like your conditioner, Downy works to keep the fibres in these items in tact.
With winter sales in full swing and more an ever expanding closet of sweaters, I’ve got my eye on a few more styles for the cold weather season. Thanks to Downy, they’ll be back for a reoccurring role next fall!
Thank you to Downy Fabric Conditioner for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
