Sephora VIB Sale: What I bought!
New season, new weather, new makeup routine. We all know the drill by now and that Sephora hosts one of their infamous sales in November for both VIB and Rouge members. So many of you let me know you’re a VIB member so I wanted to share what items I scored as new finds and old favourites during the sale the past few weeks.
Skin Regimen
Sunday Riley Autocorrect Cream: I’ve been using this eye cream for under a week so it’s hard to chat to the outcomes it’s delivered on however, I did find the product soothing in the eye area and I feel like I noticed some slight depuffing after my flight to and from Texas.
RMS Beauty Oil: Normally a skeptic of beauty oils, I’ve been using this 2-3 times a week for the past month and have fallen in love. I love using it after a small microneedling session and always find my skin feels refreshed and smooth the next morning.
Summer Friday’s Overtime Mask: I purchased the Jet Lag Mask after all the hype and reviews. I have to admit, I struggle with the product. I don’t find it makes a huge impact on restoring my skin and using it as a base for makeup has left my skin oily. The Overtime Mask however was won me over. A little goes a long way and the clarifying mask really works to bring your skin back to life. I’ve also found it works great at assisting in clearing hormonal acne.
SKYN ICELAND Eye Gels: I’ve tried a few brands in this space and nothing really lives up to the hype or the reviews. I wouldn’t call this product a miracle worker but if it was a late night or a long flight, I do find this can assist in an overall scheme to bring puffy eyes and dark circles back to life.
Mount Lai Rose Quartz Roller: I’ve loved using this product to apply the RMS beauty oil mentioned above.
Beauty Favourites
Better than Sex Mascara: If you’ve been following me for sometime, you know I have always attributed what lift I can get from my lashes to this product. Still a fav! But I did snag this item from IT cosmetics to see how I like it.
Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Concealer: I like to think of myself as the concealer guru (I’ve likely tried them all), and this one is a new favourite hands down. The product applies quite easily and generously and doesn’t crease into fine lines throughout the day.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation: Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s worth every penny. A little goes a long way and this product blends like no other and looks great on its own or with other products.
Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer: I only started using a Primer in the last year and this item alone has made the world of a difference. My skin is getting drier the older I get and between this product and facial cream, I can restore balance to my skin before applying foundation.
Smashbox Eye Palette: Petal Metal is my go-to shade in these palettes and I’ve almost used up 3 of the shades in 2 months alone. The pigment is great and this goes on super easy!
Stila Eyeliner: Another long time product I’ve been using. Applies super easy, I love that I can achieve a dramatic or easy cat-eye with this product too.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick: A few swipes of this with BB cream or the foundation mentioned above is a quick and easy way to add some colour and dimension to my face.
Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronzer: This product can be quite overwhelming if you use too much but a light swipe on the cheek bones can give you a nice glow now that summer tans are beginning to fade.
Beauty Blender in Natural: I broke up with my foundation brush earlier this year in favour of the Beauty Blender and haven’t looked back since!
BITE Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Souffle: The perfect pink-ish nude and the creamy base makes this product last for days (ok, more like hours) on end.
Hair & Such
Dry Bar Texas Tease Brush: I might have to break up with my hair stylist over this brush. I’ve loved a good bump for years but achieving it seemed almost impossible until now. This brush makes teasing a pinch and a little goes a long way.
OUAI Voluminizing Hair Spray: I picked this up in Austin when I realized I left my favourite product at home. I love that the product doesn’t make my hair feel stringy or sticky when I apply and it does seem to hold quite well. I just wouldn’t rely on the promise of extra volume – it hasn’t seemed to do the trick for me.
ghd 2″ Straightening Iron: Mid-week visits to the gym means less time curling my hair and I’m back to straightening it again for an easy look. This straightener captures more hair faster with the 2″ plates and I like that the heat is controlled to protect my ends from getting fried.
